Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Despite what some people might think, I don't mind being proved wrong, and so it was with a happy heart that I left the cinema on Friday night, having watched easily the best Harry Potter movie. I know some people think the first one was the best but frankly it was a kids' movie based on a book for children, and you could tell, that doesn't make it bad, just not my favourite.

The new one I do have some issues with (obviously) as they missed some sections out but for the first time I didn't feel the lack of them. For the first time, it seemed acceptable that some things were left out. Not all the things, but I won't berate them this time :)

***SPOILERS***

Though I liked what had been done wrt to Ginny I do think that more of a relationship with her would have been nice.

I don't regret the lack of Rufus Scrimgeour tbqh though it was a fun scene.

I just read an interview with David Heyman where he talked about the lack of funeral and I must admit, the bit where Harry kneels by Dumbledore's body is plenty moving enough.

I think that it would have been good if Dumbledore had picked up Harry as before if only 'cos the Dursleys needed that scene to be told quite how awfully they'd treated Harry. Plus the incident with the glasses was just funny!

Dumbledore was, again, not right. He's not been funny or quirky enough in these movies but they tried to put that back in with questions about Harry's lovelife which was just bizarre.

They cut out much of Harry's "Malfoy is a death eater" and much of his obsession with following Malfoy - which was great 'cos that pissed me off!

There was less Quidditch than I had thought they had promised, which was sad.

Less Hagrid too :(

But there were more comedy moments, which was good :)

So yeah, best film yet ^_^
