Defining the book club

So, what is an online book club? How will it work?

My (vague) plan is that we'll set a book each...month perhaps. Everyone can suggest a book and whoever is interested in said book and has the time can read it. There will be theoretical deadlines but being as it's online it'd all be very fluid. If you didn't get round to reading it in the time given it doesn't matter, when you finish - whenever that is - you can simply write up your thoughts. The deadlines will be more a suggestion to have finished by a certain time 'cos we'll "start" the next book the following week.

Add all your suggestions to the appropriate suggestions page and comment on other people's.

If you are the first to finish, create a new topic and write up what you thought, what you liked, what you didn't. Be as in-depth as you feel you can be, if you're not big on writing then be succinct, if you had a lot of thoughts, write a full-on review. I don't wish to be a dictator but it's much nicer if you only post relevant responses. The person who started the thread, no matter how much they wrote about the book had some real thoughts on it, responding with some thing like "My friends think I'm a robot" in response to a review of a book to do with androids is not appreciated and not fair.

Any suggestions of ways to refine this book club are much appreciated ^_^
